For the past 3 weeks I have been shooting a documentary at Paul’s Daughter. One of the last remaining Mom and Pop restaurants on the boardwalk, located at W.10th and the Boardwalk in Coney Island Brooklyn. Paul’s Daughter, formally Gregory and Pauls, has been feeding people on the boardwalk for over 50 years. This is a charm of yesteryear. A dispute over lease renewal threatens Pauls business with take over plans. Here are some stills from my movie.

Paul Georgoulakos aka “The Chief” 

Every day between 3 and 4 o’clock, these 2 squirrels come to the counter looking for handouts. Chief always obliges with French Fries.

Pauls Priest, Father Eugene pays a visit to bless the cotton candy and hotdog grill with holy water. When Father Eugene was asked to sum-up Coney Island in one word he said “Rainbow, as Coney Island has every color within”

Then one afternoon the signs came down suddenly and piece by piece ” The Ocean Liner of the Sea” was stripped. Sad days on the Boardwalk.
